Chloroform Days - Cammy's journal from the end of the Multiverse

Dimension jump
July 08, 2026

The 2025 trip diary is live! I had a couple pages to finish on this trip, plus the header to draw, which I finished sketching out last night and I am very proud of given how much interactions between lads are a struggle to draw still. I gotta! It's me and my Caby. The 2026 diary will not be anywhere near as in-depth as this, but I've got a plan for it that won't resemble the other ones at all. I'm pleased that each of the trip diaries, given how samey "I visit the same girl in the same place" Read more

2024 trip diary is now up!
June 10, 2026

Been a bit, journal people! Honestly, I suspect this might start going dormant more often going forwards—I'd rather be doing things or relaxing than constantly updating a journal, honestly, especially when I have other places to post updates and I just have less to show off these days. I'm pretty happy with all my projects and I'm really looking forward to going back into the real world and being a productive member of society again. I don't think that's a bad thing, though, if it's only once Read more

cammy_v3 is now live!
March 31, 2026

Welcome to cammy.somnol v3.0, everyone. (If you only read the journal, check around the rest of the site, that's where the action's happening.) I've had this brewing for way too fucking long now. I was quite happy with the idea and general execution of cammy_v2 (back in 2022!), but I thought the graphics were old and the site was wearing the remnants of a few attempted ideas that never panned out or only made my life more inconvenient (trying to support Netscape 4.0 and its shitass layout Read more

Cammy returns to Protoweb!
January 10, 2026

My first Protoweb restoration in almost two years is live! This one's for the early Opera Software site. I go over all the gooey details in the linked Protoblog entry, but all I can say is that this has been a long time coming, I'm excited to be back helping out a good project, and I'm glad to finally have those fucking Opera installers out of my Downloads folder. My plan is to complete a restoration each month. I know I can work way quicker than that, but I think this is a good goal to aim for Read more

Dive In
October 28, 2025

October's been a tricky month for me. It's been hard adjusting back to life at home, and more often than not, I've just felt like people don't really need to see more from lil old me, really. I started just playing PS2 games all day instead, and that was cool, but I knew I had to get back on the horse sooner or later. (It calls to me. It goes "neigh neigh" in the night.) I've also been having really irritating, bruised soreness in my writing hand thumb from a tendon issue (exacerbated by Read more

Chloroform Days: a new look for the journal
September 10, 2025

Welcome back, journal people! Peep the theme! (If it's all manners of fucked up, clear your cache. Web developer problems.) I thought that, with as big and rolling as the journal has grown—seriously, it's now like seven months longer lived than the Scratchpad was, time flies—the old Setter art from like 2023 and how basic the layout was and the lack of links to the RSS feed and post tags (more sorting of those forthcoming) just didn't suit me anymore. This? This is hot. I've really been on an Read more

archives_v2 is finally live! (plus Stroudfest photos)
September 02, 2025

Happy September, everyone! Hope all my fellow Americans had a nice Labor Day weekend, and all my fellow not-Americans had a nice weekend anyway. The big announcement of today: the archives redesign is finally live! The original variant of archives was always meant to be pretty simple and quick, and I think five years living with it has been long enough. It's still up, funnily enough, on archives. You can probably see why it needed to go at some point, being just a gigantic list of links. Read more

Wales 2025 dawns
July 02, 2025

We're into the final two weeks before this year's trip to Wales! We've already bought most everything I'm bringing, including the vintage digicam for good measure. (I drunk bought another AOL PhotoCam a couple days ago for cheap, though fully working with pictures showing it powered on and in-box, so that'll be arriving tomorrow as well. What can I say? Fourth time's the charm.) Now all that's left to do is wait. If you're not following the RSS feeds for my album reviews and game reviews, go do Read more

Elsewhere
June 13, 2025

Brief moment before we begin: Go check out hifi's game review section! I just spent an evening capturing a ton of screenshots from real hardware for a bunch of games, both ones I've streamed and ones I haven't, and I'll be posting new ones on Fridays for the next few weeks until the pool runs out. Use the RSS feed to your advantage, and stick around for more to come. So as I alluded to in the post from the other day, there's one other idea I've had for the cammy.somnol refresh that I've started Read more

Fixing up my other site...
June 11, 2025

So my website focus over the past year or so has been returning mari.somnol to prominence, and on all accounts, we're there. It's not even basically, all the important stuff is in place, plus a ton of the non-important stuff. Everything I wanted, the three flavors for any browser, the theme switcher on hifi, PHP album/game reviews, stories for all three sites that can be built from a central document, they're here. Aside from a few drawings and more content, mari.somnol is complete. That brings Read more
