Chloroform Days - Cammy's journal from the end of the Multiverse

Departure day 2026
May 10, 2026

Not gotten any better at updating this thing, and it's not looking promising for two months in Wales (though maybe!). It's not that I haven't been in a really great mood, I think I'm just realizing how much infrastructure I've built and sometimes I get tired of maintaining it. You'll live. Only I read this anyway. Leaving for the airport in a few hours! I'm really not concerned, I've done this a few times, but my mom always insists I overpack or take only my nicest stuff. She cares, it's fair. Read more

marfGH: Volume 0 expanded reissue is out!
May 04, 2026

I've gotten so bad at updating this journal, man, but we're within a week of me leaving for Wales, so let's tie up the loose ends while I pack and prepare. Finally got the announcement video edited today, so that means that just in time for tomorrow's stream, marfGH: Volume 0's expanded reissue is out! A quite dumb interaction in Wolpchat with Penalty earlier reminded me that some people really aren't as keyed into this release scheme I've got going on as I thought they might be, so in case you Read more

Volume 0 goes to the QA department!
April 19, 2026

I said I was gonna do a post on marfGH: Volume 0, and then I went to go see the Super Mario Galaxy movie and got distracted. Actually, I got into that frame of mind where I'd rather just work on it than talk more about it. It's finally playable end-to-end and off to my testers! Of course, anyone who's poked around on my Guitar Hero custom discs page knows that Volume 0 is an old disc, from June 2021, actually. Why the sudden reissue now? In truth, this has been the intention for years now, for Read more

Flooding the market: day 28
April 13, 2026

When I last wrote about my used game sale extravaganza, I was recently left on read by two different game resellers about my big lots of retro games and had realized I was just gonna have to list it all myself. I'm supremely pleased to report that, as of a half hour, they've all gone! There were five lots of games for sale, Genesis, NES, Wii, PS2, and GBA, and they are all either mailed off or will be mailed off tomorrow. The NES games were what I was most wary about being able to move, given Read more

cammy_v3 is now live!
March 31, 2026

Welcome to cammy.somnol v3.0, everyone. (If you only read the journal, check around the rest of the site, that's where the action's happening.) I've had this brewing for way too fucking long now. I was quite happy with the idea and general execution of cammy_v2 (back in 2022!), but I thought the graphics were old and the site was wearing the remnants of a few attempted ideas that never panned out or only made my life more inconvenient (trying to support Netscape 4.0 and its shitass layout Read more

Flooding the market: day fourteen
March 30, 2026

Game selling expedition is still ongoing. At this point, most of the loose stuff has sold, and I'm slowly getting eBay's payouts from it. Hilariously, eBay really wants me to use their expedited payment system so they can skim a little more off the top—no thanks. You can deposit it into my checking in one to three business days like God intended. This leaves, uh, most of it. My DS and 3DS stuff was valuable enough to mostly go individually, but I've still got my GB/GBA games, the rest of the Read more

Flooding the market: day five
March 21, 2026

Update on the game selling expedition I started earlier in the week! Games are already starting to fly out of my house. I've been listing GBA and DS stuff on eBay to great success. I try to be real thorough with my photos, everything someone would be looking for to avoid bootlegs shown clearly, checking sites to see what games are going for and trying to price them accordingly or slightly lower than the going rate, and it works! People think they're getting a good deal on a game in very nice Read more

marf's 2025 mixtape
March 19, 2026

The mixtape I put together for 2025 is now on YouTube! This is the first time any of my mixes have been publicly available for listening. The 2024 mix I did, I burned to some CD-Rs and mailed out to the Somnolians, most of whom don't have CD players. I have an alternate 2025 mix I had made before the trip seriously improved my spirits and brought back my optimism for a lot of things, and I think only dcb got a copy of it. I did drop a zip of this mix in Somnol, but it was over the holidays and Read more

Flooding the market: day one
March 16, 2026

(Brief aside before we begin: post on the group blog from the 13th! It's an overly-technical, highly obscure ramble about a program for getting better looking 8-bit paletted images, and yet another thing I found interesting from the PageMill CD-ROM. Just figured I'd mention that before we get started. I gotta get better at letting folks everywhere know what I've been up to.) So for well over ten years now, I've been putting off selling my games. The flipside to my dash over the past two years Read more

All the marfGH menus
March 08, 2026

Was jonesing to get going on some more marfGH work, so I finished up a new custom last night. This is for one of Brad Sucks' more recent songs, "In Trouble", and you can watch the chart in action here. It came out real purdy. Love the light show on it, and I think the camera work is pretty sick too. All this to say—Volume 2 is in progress. Expect it by Christmas like the last one. What's not necessarily apparent from watching it is how much of what's in the video is not stock at all. Even Read more
