What you're looking at is not a galaxy cluster deep in the solar system, but actually a supermoon I captured around 12:30 this morning! We didn't get much of the big orange harvest moon we were supposed to (I think out west, it was brighter and more orangey), but it didn't stop me from going out in the dead of night, surrounded by the rustles of wildlife, trying to get some retro digicam photos of it.

The PhotoCam's ones far and away came out the best. Caby described them as biblical, which is wild and I think accurate. The EasyShare's was kind of the dud of the bunch, even trying to crank the exposure up. Admittedly the moon was pretty well clear of clouds by the time I thought to take some exposure-cranked shots of it, so that could've been my fault. (There's two more supermoons due this year, so I'll try again in November.) The PowerShot's was the one that looked the most like what you actually saw with your eyes, so go Canon even in 2001.
If you didn't catch it on the group blog, the not-so-long awaited final chapter to the PhotoCam saga has finally been chronicled! I put all the sappy feelings in that one, along with a ton of warm and filmic old digicam shots if that's what you're into. There's a little something for everyone—nature, unboxings, tech history, a rare W coming from Reddit. Very pleased to have closed out six years of hunting for a working unit in such spectacular fashion.
I have marfGH stuff cooking for everyone and hopefully more art to come. Let's see if I'm finally pulling myself out of the mud at long last.
