I promised a creative update today! We're getting very close to the Christmas 2025 due date I set for myself with marfGH: Volume 1, and I'm happy to report the disc is also very close. I have one last song to port over before the setlist is playable end-to-end. I got the last custom for the disc, The Tragically Hip's biggest hit "New Orleans is Sinking", finished on Wednesday. It's a blast—possibly the most fun chart I have ever done. Blues soloing is a much different flavor than metal Read more
Still full of homemade stuffing, prime rib, and alcohol over here (and now homemade carrot cake!), but I figured I'd drop in quick and wish whoever's passing by a happy Thanksgiving (or if you're not American, a wonderful and completely random Thursday). When I bought it, I was so electric, I couldn't sit still. I was too busy fooling with it yesterday to post about it, or like, answer messages. The first song I sorta played on it other than "Psycho Killer" was "High and Dry" by Radiohead. I'm going to learn this thing so fucking hard, you watch. And listen. Not right now, because you can't hear it Read more
Still chipping away at the things I said I was working on in the previous post, but I've been meaning to be better about updating the journal, so here's another fun post. The not-really-fun context: my grandma has fairly late stage lung cancer and has moved in with us to hopefully have a better quality of life going out. This has naturally made things a little screwy around the house, but it's also provided a more fun opportunity to snoop and larp as a digital archaeologist. Rather than simply Read more
