Was jonesing to get going on some more marfGH work, so I finished up a new custom last night. This is for one of Brad Sucks' more recent songs, "In Trouble", and you can watch the chart in action here. It came out real purdy. Love the light show on it, and I think the camera work is pretty sick too. All this to say—Volume 2 is in progress. Expect it by Christmas like the last one.
What's not necessarily apparent from watching it is how much of what's in the video is not stock at all. Even outside of the Deluxe 2.0 features like the note counter and streak popups, I'm manually cueing the crowd up to clap and cheer should you be doing well enough. The recolored orange Star Power was something I did. All the camera cut work is mine—I placed all that. I really do feel like, with Volume 1 out, all these features on full display, and ending 2026 off (schedules permitting) with sixty charts, slightly more even, from me on various discs, all tricked out and playable, this is legit. marfGH is the most legit mod project/creative thing I have ever undertaken. I've been jealous of those customs kids since I was 8, and now I am the customs kid.
One of the things that wonderful anon who sent me an email last month (who I'm not sure ever got my reply, but in case you didn't—seriously, thank you again) requested was to see all of the retextured marfGH screens me and the lads got done, because I haven't posted them anywhere. Sorry it took a bit! The new lag calibration screen is missing from this batch because I haven't done it yet, nor was it in Volume 1. It will be in the Volume 0 reissue, plus I'll update Volume 1 with it when the time comes. Obviously 2 and onwards will have it as well.

(There's tons more of the setlist doodles—the game picks from one of four setlist screen milos every boot. A reason to keep booting it up to check for more!)
Honestly, I'm still really fond of these. I didn't think I could retexture the whole game in time, but I did, and my friends came in clutch and helped me make it a really nice variety of pretty and goofy. I personally took it as a challenge to experiment with brushes, art style, and textures to see if I could get my screens looking like they came from a variety of people as much as possible. I'm pleased, I really am.
One more! Courtesy of Caby. Most custom fonts work was done by me, with this screen done by her.
Y'know what else I'm pleased about? Mid 60s out right now. First window open day of the year, and we got 70s next week. Bring it on. I'm ready to be renewed.
