Cardiff Bay

In Cardiff Bay, all weather is seaside weather.

This trip marked my first visit to Cardiff Bay! It's a curious place—originally an industrial park that became really rough through the 20th century, the Welsh government has invested a ton of time and money into making it a big tourist attraction. It's also home to the Senedd building (the Welsh senate, said something like "seneth") and a Norwegian Church famous for being the one Roald Dahl attended! Just an all-around funky place.

Anyway, on the tourist-y front, plenty of places to eat (Caby and I went to Pizza Express, which was tasty if pretty expensive), plus our favorite Cadwaladers, which is an ice cream shop over the water, on stilts! Their stuff tastes delicious, it really does. We spent a bunch of time wandering around (and it was decently happening despite it being an off day in February, though that means a lot less in Wales than it does in Pennsylvania) and just taking in the shimmering waters, which I will one day see the other side of. I will, dammit.
